Band Concert

The Central Band of the Canadian Forces
2011 "Prelude to Christmas" Concert
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 , 7 p.m.
at the SFDCI Cafetorium, Percy St., Smiths Falls
"Each and every year, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The band does something different each year, and hearing a big brass band really is special. It warms the heart and make you proud to be Canadian".
"Prelude to Christmas" has been a highlight of the Christmas season for many residents. The uniformed band members entertain with lively treatments of seasonal and other favourites, musically salute members of the forces, and feature vocalists and soloists. It promises to be an evening of great music with a truly Canadian flavour.

A concert by the Central Band of the Canadian Forces has become a REAL tradition, and is REAL’s primary fundraiser for the year.
The Central Band has gained an international reputation as one of Canada's leading military musical organizations, and as such are musical ambassadors of Canada. The band it has performed at concerts, parades and festivals in Holland, Germany, France, England, Italy, Cyprus and the United States. Performances have been given to royalty, world heads of state, popes, prime ministers and governor generals in its sixty years of service. So REAL is very honoured to have the band perform for us in Smiths Falls.
Recent concerts have been held in the SFDCI auditorium, and have included a wide variety of selections by the band, soloists and singers.
