More About Meat: A Teach and Taste Event brought to you by Lanark Slow Food and REAL

Sun. Feb. 5 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Smiths Falls Community Health Centre Kitchen, 2 Gould St., (old high school)

Chef Tibrata Gillies and students will demonstrate the preparation of dishes that feature local, grass-fed beef and goat, and others for you to taste.

ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes Closed to New Registrants

January 29, 2012. The federal government just announced it is closing the program to new registrants. All upgrades must still be completed by March 31, 2012, but the deadline for post-retrofit evaluation is now June 30, 21012.

People who have already registered are still eligible if they have their first audit and work completed by March 31, 2012.

Recycle your Electronic Waste!

Electronics are accepted for recycling at authorized Ontario depots, including two in Smiths Falls: Twenty Twelve and Staples. Search by material or postal code at dowhatyoucan.ca. Drop off at no charge TVs, computers and peripherals, cameras, speakers, turntables, copiers and more.

Available for borrowing through Perth, Almonte or Smiths Falls Public Libraries or at the REAL Deal.
