Garbage

Wayne Trickey is the garbage collector for anyone, anywhere in the township. His phone number is 923-2139. Residents in the village have garbage collection already which is paid for in their taxes.

Waste Disposal Site:

Summer Hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays - 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Winter Hours:
November 1st to April 30th
Tuesdays - 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturdays - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Recycling

Recycled materials must be separated:

  • cans placed in a garbage bag
  • plastics in a separate bag,
  • newsprint, paper, etc., tied in bundles, placed in a box or bag
  • glass in a sturdy box or bag
  • boxboard - remove liners, flatten and bundle
  • corrugated cardboard - flatten and bundle. Must be separate from boxboard

  • Boxboard ie, cereal boxes and the like Brown Lunch Bags
  • Glossy Paper

Plastics

  • PET plastic containers with the code #1 - with screw tops only, without caps (water, juice and pop bottles)
  • no food trays
  • HDPE natural and coloured plastic containers with code #2: milk and water bottles, detergent, shampoo bottles, windshield washer fluid containers, etc.
  • Tubs and libs, plastics with codes #2, 4, 5, and 7 (injection) which include margarine, yogurt, ketchup and salad dressing containers
  • No #3 or #6 plastics

Do not include:

  • Motor Oil and Antifreeze Containers
  • Plastic Bags
  • 5 Gallon Pails w/ Metal Handles
  • (OK if handles are removed and marked Code 0 - Code 7)
  • Garden Planting Trays
  • Carbon Paper
  • Courier Envelopes
  • Pizza Boxes or Frozen Food Packages if waxed or coated
  • styrofoam
  • oversized plastic items e.g. kiddy pools, lawn furniture, laundry hampers

Glass Pit

  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Bottles and Jars
  • Mirrors

Green Rolloff Container for Cans

  • Steel and Aluminum Food and Beverage Cans
  • Aluminum Foil and Trays

Green Bins for Corrugated Cardboard

  • Corrugated Cardboard only
  • Must be flattened
  • no waxed, soiled or wet cardboard

Dark Blue Rolloff for Metals

  • Iron, Steel, Copper, Brass, etc.
  • No large rolls of barbed wire allowed. If you have large rolls, please cut or break into small amounts.

Miscellaneous

  • Propane Tanks
  • Car and Marine Batteries

ABSOLUTELY NO LIQUID WASTE OF ANY KIND.

Compost

There is no charge for brush at the dump. The waste attendants will direct you to the burn pile.
