Municipal Waste Options Lanark Highlands
As of January 1st, 2009, the Township has converted all waste sites except Lanark Village into transfer stations. In 2002 the Township introduced the use of Punch Cards at all waste sites. (Bag tags will remain in use ONLY in the Village of Lanark where pick-up is available). Lanark Highlands operates several waste sites:
Reuse Centre. A Reuse Centre is operated by volunteers at the McDonald's Corners waste Site, 800 Con. 10, Dalhousie at County Road 12. Donations of good quaility used items, such as furniture, clothing and household items, are welcomed for free distribution to members of the community. The Reuse Centre is open during regular Waste Site hours: (winter) Thursday, 2 to 5; Saturday 8 to 12; Sunday 12 to 5. (summer) Thursday 4 to 7; Saturday 8 to 12; Sunday 2 to 7.
Residents of the Township of Lanark Highlands may use the Household Hazardous Waste Depot located at the Middleville Waste Site, 4686 Wolf Grove Road. The depot does not accept items from commercial or farming operations. The depot is open Victoria Day to Labour Day:

Curbside pickup is available in Lanark Village. Recycling is available at each waste site. See a full list of recyclable materials or contact the waste-site operator. Blue boxes are available for $8.00 from the Township office or any waste site. Please call 613-259-2398.
