Municipal Waste Options Prescott
Prescott has a curbside garbage pickup program. Pickup day is Tuesday. Garbage must be in town-issued garbage bags. Large paper bags are $1.75, large plastic bags are $1.25 and small plastic bags are $.75 (taxes inc.) and are sold at:

Prescott operates a curbside blue box program. Recycling collection is alternate Thursdays, alternating between the East and West sides of town. Blue boxes can be purchased from the Town of Prescott for $7.00 (GST included) or the Town Yard. Blue Box recyclables include:

Leaves, grass, and yard waste will continue to be picked up on the last Wednesday of the month. Read what is accepted. Brush must be at the curb by no later than Tuesday evening. Branches 6´ - 12´ long shall be piled neatly at the curb with the butt ends facing the street. Branches shorter than 6´ shall be bundled or they will not be picked up. Small branches and twigs must be bundled and not bagged as bags cannot be put through the wood chipper. Prescott´s compost yard is located in the Public Works Facility at the north end of Sophia Street and is open Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, April through October and during weekdays from 8am to 3pm if you want to drop off your own.. Compost is available for residents free of charge. Residential composters can be bought from the Town of Prescott for $30.00 each (GST included).
Prescott residents may participate in the free Household Hazardous Waste Depots organized for residents of the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville. In 2010 the dates are Saturday, August 21 and Saturday, September 25.
