The REAL Deal store is not permitted to open just yet, but we are busy preparing for when we do. We have had many calls from people asking about donations of used items and where to dispose of their used electronics.
For the next three Saturdays, the REAL Deal will be open to accept donations and ewaste only. Saturdays May 16, 23 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the William St. gate will be open for the public to bring acceptable household goods, renovation materials and ewaste. Note that customers will not be permitted inside the store, dome, or fenced in yard area, no exceptions.
If you have donations to contribute please drive to back, to the opening in the fence in front of the dome. All donations are subject to our assessment as always. (If you are unsure if something is acceptable, please check our website or call us (613) 283-7999.) Please stay in your vehicle if possible and allow the staff to unload. If you must leave your vehicle, please maintain appropriate social distance. If you have electronic waste to drop off, please make a separate stop by the ewaste bin. You may leave it beside the bin yourself. But if you prefer, staff can help you, and are available to handle anything particularly large or heavy.
For staff and customer safety, our policy for the foreseeable future will be to set aside all donations for three days before processing. Please remember that we are not open for sales and you may not enter the store, dome or yard, no exceptions. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, please do not come at all. We will be happy to accept your donations another day.
