Seeds for Food is collecting seeds for families is Saharan refugee camps. See their website for instructions on how to collect seeds from the vegetables or tropical fruits you consume, or contribute unused commercial seeds. Seeds deposited in the collection container at the REAL Deal by September 30 with be forwarded in early October. |

Ontario and ecoENERGY Despite the federal announcement cancelling the ecoENERGY program for homes, Ontario will continue to fund new pre-retrofit audits. The province will pay 50% of a home's audit, up to $150, and audits will qualify you for up to $5,000 in provincial retrofit grants. REAL would be pleased to arrange an audit for you. Have an old cell phone? REAL is collecting used cell phones through Phone Back Canada. Some phones are reused, and others taken apart and their components recycled. And REAL raises funds in the process. The green drop box is located just inside the customer entrance at the REAL Deal. |
